Efforts to help keep the community safe during the pandemic
Chicago Public Schools has issued detailed COVID-19 safety protocols and resources for the district. All information can be found on the CPS website.
COVID-19 and Tubman
Last year we reached just about an 80% vaccination rate for our age-eligible students. We urge all our families to get vaccinated. Vaccination is the number one thing we can do to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to reduce its severity if you do get COVID-19.
Masks are optional except if there is an in-class exposure. If a person has tested positive for COVID who was in class during their infectious period, the entire class is required to mask for ten days from the last date of exposure. That masking requirement is for all students regardless of vaccination status or recent recovery from COVID.
Students with COVID-19 are required to quarantine for 5 days (or 10 days if they continue to be symptomatic on day 6).
Quarantine is no longer required for students exposed to COVID-19 unless they test positive
COVID-19 Testing at Tubman
COVID-19 testing will be available at Tubman. In order to register for the ThermoFisher COVID-19 testing you must select Agassiz instead of Tubman. We are working to get this updated.
